The stories, about everything from working while a freshman, writing a great college essay, and making the most of parental visits, ran on Aug. 8.

All three of Rohan and Joy Hepkins’ daughters have found a home at Messiah College. Between their support of Christian higher education and Messiah’s reputation in each of the daughter’s chosen fields of study, Messiah has been the perfect choice for their family, comments Mr. Hepkins in the August article, “We Believe in Christian College,” in Campus Life’s Christian College Guide.

A July 5 story in the Carlisle Sentinel surveyed local colleges and universities to gauge the impact of the economy on enrollment. John Chopka, vice president for enrollment, noted that Messiah, like all other colleges and universities in the eastern United States, is expecting a decline in applicants as a nationwide population shift decreases the prospective applicant pool. The College is responding by strategically targeting recruitment efforts in areas of the country where applicants are plentiful.
