Messiah ranks fifth in the nation among baccalaureate colleges, according to the Washington Monthly’s service-oriented college rankings
August 23rd, 2010
The “Washington Monthly” writes of its fifth annual college rankings, “Instead of asking what a college could do for you, we asked, ‘What are colleges doing for the country?’” The magazine looked at things like student hours spent in community service, service-oriented scholarships, and graduates entering the Peace Corps. With these criteria, Messiah College ranked fifth among the top 50 baccalaureate colleges nationwide.
The three-part criteria of social mobility, research, and service places Messiah behind Bard College at Simon’s Rock (MA), Northwestern College (IA), Taylor University (IN), and Cooper Union (NY).
