Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra joins Messiah College choral ensembles at Messiah College for first Masterworks concert outside of Harrisburg
April 12th, 2014
On April 11 the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra ventured outside their usual venue to perform Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” at Messiah’s Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts with the Messiah College Concert Choir, Messiah College Choral Arts Society and ensemble-in-residence Susquehanna Chorale.
In a review for the Carlisle Sentinel, David Dunkle wrote, “The choruses were arrayed in the High Center’s well-positioned choir loft, behind and above the stage where the orchestra and soloists were positioned. The results were spectacular, as voices and instruments blended before surging toward the audience.” http://cumberlink.com/entertainment/music/hso-visits-messiah-college-s-high-center/article_d828071a-c1f0-11e3-b958-0019bb2963f4.html
