The Sider Institute to Host Annual Schrag Lecture March 17

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 29, 2016) — The Sider Institute for Anabaptist, Pietist and Wesleyan Studies will hold its annual Schrag Lectures on March 17 at Messiah College. This year’s lecturer is Dr. Molly Worthen. She will deliver a lecture “The Curious History of the Christian Worldview: Theological Origins of the Culture Wars,” which will draw from her recent book, “Apostles of Reason: The Crisis of Authority in American Evangelicalism.” It will consider the role of Anabaptists and Wesleyans in the evangelical movement in the years after World War II. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. in Parmer Hall in the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. Admission is free; no ticket is required. The Stabler Foundation Grants Over Half a Million Dollars to Messiah College

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 19, 2016) —The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation recently granted a $530,000 award to further existing Stabler endowments for nursing and general scholarship aid at Messiah College, continuing a significant investment in the availability of scholarship funds at the College. Messiah College hosts “Music for Piano Times Two” with guest artist Stuart Malina of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra

(Jan. 15, 2016) — Guest artist Stuart Malina, music director and conductor of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, will join Messiah faculty members Ya-Ting Chang, Patrice Ewoldt and Richard Roberson in an evening of two-piano masterpieces on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the High Foundation Recital Hall in the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts.
