The Stabler Foundation Grants Over Half a Million Dollars to Messiah College

January 19th, 2016

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 19, 2016) —The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation recently granted a $530,000 award to further existing Stabler endowments for nursing and general scholarship aid at Messiah College, continuing a significant investment in the availability of scholarship funds at the College.

Since the establishment of the initial Stabler endowment in 1989 and the more recent nursing endowment in 2008, nearly $1 million in Stabler scholarship support has been awarded to Messiah College students.

“Messiah is honored and grateful for the longstanding relationship between the late Stablers, their foundation and the College,” said Kim Phipps, president of Messiah College.

Mr. Stabler was an advisor and friend to Messiah for many years. Mrs. Stabler served on the Board of Trustees for 16 years and felt a strong affinity for Messiah in part because of her own faith heritage. “Their lasting legacy of support is having a deep impact on the mission of Messiah College,” Phipps added.
