Grammy Award winning jazz group Snarky Puppy to perform at Messiah College

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2016) — Messiah College Department of Music presents the world-renowned jazz group, Snarky Puppy, as part of its Performing Art Series. The performance will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. in Parmer Hall, located in The Calvin and Janet High Center. Snarky Puppy specializes in sophisticated composition, harmonies and improvisation. Their unique talent led them to win both a Grammy and a Reader’s Poll. World-renowned chemist presents “The Big Bang, Stephen Hawking, and God” at Messiah College

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 19, 2016) — On Friday, Oct. 7, Dr. Henry “Fritz” Schaefer, known globally for his scientific contributions to molecular quantum mechanics, will present a lecture titled, “The Big Bang, Stephen Hawking, and God,” discussing the relationship between science and religion. The event will take place in Messiah College’s Hostetter Chapel Sanctuary at 7 p.m. This is a free lecture sponsored by The Central Pennsylvania Forum for Religion and Science, and is open to the public. Messiah College theatre department presents “Eurydice”

(Sept. 16, 2016) — The Messiah College Department of Theatre and Dance presents Sarah Ruhl’s production “Eurydice,” directed by Messiah’s Associate Professor of Theatre Daniel Inouye. Show times are Oct. 6-8 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Climenhaga Building, Poorman Blackbox Theatre. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Messiah College presents the Oakes Museum of Natural History’s Curator Club and Curator Club 2

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 9, 2015) — The Oakes Museum of Natural History will hold a multifaceted science program for children grades 3-8 on Saturdays. On Sept. 10, 24, Oct. 1, 29, Nov. 5, and 19, children grades 3-5 can attend Curator Club from 9:15-11:30; Sept. 24, Oct. 1, 29, and Nov. 5, children grades 6-8 can attend Curator Club 2 from 12:15-2:30. Influential New York Times Columnist to Speak at Messiah College

(Sept. 9, 2016) — On Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., Messiah College will host Ross Douthat, a New York Times columnist and author, in Parmer Hall, located in the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. The title of Douthat’s presentation is “Christian Citizens in a Post-Christian Republic.” His presentation is free and open to the public.
