About The Mendelssohn Piano Trio
Consisting of three exceptionally talented musicians, The Mendelssohn Piano Trio has been delighting audiences with their charming repertoire for the past 15 years.  The ensemble performs an extensive collection that includes works from all periods of classical music history brought to life by pianist Ya-Ting Chang, violinist Peter Sirotin and cellist Fiona Thompson.  The group has garnered widespread critical acclaim through their performances of Brahms piano trios and quartets as well as their performances of Beethoven’s piano trios.  Considering these performances, The Washington Post described the ensemble as “unfathomably beautiful” and “electrifying.” The group’s recordings have been featured on several classical music stations across the nation, granting them further recognition.  Recently, the trio has signed a contract with Centaur Records to record a cycle of Haydn Piano Trios.  The group currently acts as Ensemble-in-Residence for Messiah College as well as for Washington DC’s Embassy Series and the Chamber Music in Grantham summer festival.
