August 16th, 2013

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Aug. 16, 2013) — The Curator Club is a multifaceted science program—open to students in third through eighth grades—sponsored by the Oakes Museum at Messiah College. The Curator Club, for children in grades three through five, meets from 9:45 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7 and 21; Oct. 5; and Nov. 2 and 16. CC2, a new program for students in sixth through eighth grades, meets from 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 7, Oct. 5 and Nov. 2. Schedules of topics and activities for each session can be found at messiah.edu/oakes.
The Oakes Museum of Natural History provides a unique museum experience that promotes life-long exploration for families, groups and classrooms. The 10,000-square-foot complex features 40,000 specimens, including Smithsonian-quality African and North American mammals, bird eggs, seashells, minerals, insects and fossils. The Oakes Museum houses the largest bird, egg and African mammal collections in Pennsylvania.
Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.

The cost for Curator Club is $60 for all five sessions; $15 per Saturday; or $18 for walk-ins, as space allows. CC2 sessions are $15 per Saturday for pre-registered students and $18 for walk-ins. For more information, call 717-691-6082 or email curatorsclub@messiah.edu.
