Messiah College theatre department to present classic musical “The Fantasticks”

GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 11, 2013) —The Messiah College Department of Theatre and Dance presents the romantic musical “The Fantasticks” on May 2-4 and May 6 at 8 p.m. with a matinee performance on May 4 at 3 p.m. All performances take place in Poorman Black Box Theater, located in Climenhaga Building. Tickets cost $7 for students and seniors and $10 for general admission. To purchase tickets, contact the box office at 717-691-6036 or visit messiah.edu/tickets.

About “The Fantasticks”
The world’s longest-running musical makes its way to Messiah’s newest theater, Poorman Black Box. This theater features flexible seating, and the production will be performed in the round with audience members on all sides. “The Fantasticks” displays a classic romantic story, where two families arrange a pretend feud that allows their young son and daughter to fall madly in love. This couple uncovers the hoax and separates, emphasizing the simplicity and complexity of love. The Messiah College performance, directed by Edward Cohn, associate professor of theatre, promises a timeless and entertaining show for all.
