Messiah College Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensembles to perform in March

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Feb. 8, 2013)—The Messiah College department of music will present two student concerts in March. The Symphony Orchestra will perform on March 1 at 8 p.m., while the Jazz Ensembles will perform on March 22 at 8 p.m. Both concerts, which are free to attend and open to the public, will take place in Parmer Hall, located in the newly constructed Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. The Messiah College department of music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.  Undergraduate degrees offered include the Bachelor of Science in music education, the Bachelor of Music in performance, the Bachelor of Arts in Christian music studies, composition or commercial music and the Bachelor of Arts in music business. Students in all majors gain valuable experience through private study, junior and senior recitals and a wide variety of ensemble performances, tours and recordings.

The music department also offers a Master of Music in conducting. This graduate program is designed for continued education in a focused field of conducting, and students deepen their expertise by following a specialized track in wind, orchestral or choral conducting.
