Messiah College ensembles to perform music gala in February

January 25th, 2013

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Jan. 25, 2013)—The Messiah College Department of Music will host a Music Gala to introduce the spring concert series. The concert, which will feature several music department instrumental and choral ensembles, will take place on Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. in Parmer Hall, located in the newly constructed Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. About Messiah College’s music department
The Messiah College Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.  Undergraduate degrees offered include the Bachelor of Science in music education, the Bachelor of Music in performance, the Bachelor of Arts in Christian music studies, composition or commercial music and the Bachelor of Arts in music business. Students in all majors gain valuable experience through private study, junior and senior recitals and a wide variety of ensemble performances, tours and recordings.

The music department also offers a Master of Music in conducting. This graduate program is designed for continued education in a focused field of conducting, and students deepen their expertise by following a specialized track in wind, orchestral or choral conducting.
