A cappella men’s group Cantus comes to Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Jan. 28, 2011) — On Feb. 18, Messiah College will host a Cultural Series concert, “Cantus,” on its Grantham campus. The performance, which features the a cappella singing of nine men, begins at 8 p.m. in the Miller Auditorium in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center. It is a musical experience certain to have everyone up and moving by the night’s end. About Cantus
Cantus is recognized for its audacious performances from various eras and music types, which include chant, Renaissance music, contemporary, art song, folk, spirituals, world music and pop. They are critically acclaimed by Fanfare as being the “premier men’s vocal ensemble in the United States.” Their sound is deemed by The Washington Post as “exalting finesse” and “expressive power,” along with their music creation being “spontaneous grace.” Cantus is known for spreading the joy of singing, their stage persona, and touching interpretations with audiences throughout the country. Aside from performing, the group conducts workshops and classes for thousands of students who are interested in developing their passion for singing and the pursuit of the choral arts.

About the Cultural Series
The Cultural Series is a public, four-part annual performance series sponsored by Messiah College. The 2011 season concludes with the Wailin’ Jennys on March 17.
