School of SEH Lunch Hosts Needed this Friday!

If you are a student with a major housed in the School of Science, Engineering, and Health, you are invited to attend a free lunch this Friday during the School of SEH Accepted Student Preview Day. Please email Ambassadors@messiah.edu to let us know you are coming. We will provide a meal ticket for you on Friday.

Tour Guides Needed on Friday, March 4

We are looking for a few extra tour guides for the School of Science, Engineering, and Health Accepted Student Preview Day this coming Friday. The tour times are at 2:30 & 3:30 pm. Please email Heather at HKeefer@messiah.edu if you are willing and available.

Overnights

We still have a lot of students wanting to stay overnight this spring! Please remember you are expected to host 2 students each semester. If you have not already done so, please check the list to see who still needs a host for upcoming overnight experiences.

Our spring professional development opportunity will be to learn more about the Experiential Learning Initiative (ELI). The event is scheduled for March 16 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. It’s important for you to attend this event, as you will be expected to discuss this on future tours and panels.

Please save the date for our year-end dinner at Orchard Hill with President Phipps. The dinner will be on Monday, April 25 from 6:00-8:00 pm. This will be an opportunity for us to wrap up the year for Ambassadors and recognize each of you for your service to Messiah College.

The Admissions Office hires 8 students each summer to work 40 hours per week. The summer students give tours, travel to music festivals, participate in phoning efforts, and work on various office projects and recruitment efforts! If you are interested in summer employment opportunities in Admissions, contact Heather Keefer at HKeefer@messiah.edu. There will also be a summer employment opportunity fair the afternoon of February 11 in Hostetter Chapel.

We need a Fandango!

We need a volunteer to wear the Fandango costume for our upcoming Accepted Student Preview Days! We’ll have the mascot available at the end of each of the days to take pictures in the photobooth with our accepted students. Here are the dates and times:

Feb. 19                 3:30 -4:30 p.m.
Feb. 26                 3 -4 p.m.
March  4               3 – 4 p.m.
March 18             3 – 4 p.m.
April 1                   3:00 -4:00 p.m.

Your height must be between 5’9″ and 6’2″ to fit in the costume.

Ambassador Spring Meeting Follow-up

If you were not able to attend the Ambassador meeting last week, please come by the Admissions Office to see Heather. We need to collect your spring information card from you, and we also have some different sign-ups for you to consider.

Male Ambassador Needed This Thursday

We are still looking for 2-3 additional male Ambassadors to help out at an event this coming Thursday for accepted seniors from the local area. The event is an Ice Cream Social from 7:30-8:30 pm, followed by Powerhouse 8:30-9:30 pm. It’s a casual event for the students to get to know each other. Email ambassadors@messiah.edu if you are able to attend.

Ambassador Spring Meeting – TOMORROW!

Our spring meeting will be on Tuesday, February 2 at 4:00 pm in Parmer Cinema (Boyer 137). It will be a quick meeting, but it’s the only meeting we have this spring to touch base, give a few updates, and collect your spring schedules. Please make every effort to attend this meeting.
