Messiah College to host Dr. Willie James Jennings lecture Nov. 3

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2015) — Dr. Willie James Jennings will discuss “Overcoming the Geographies of Race” Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. in Hostestter Chapel. His book “The Christian Imagination” discusses how Christianity has affected segregation. The lecture is sponsored by the Messiah College Ethnic & Areas Studies Major, Biblical and Religious Studies Dept., and the Center for the Public Humanities. About Dr. Willie James Jennings
Dr. Willie James Jennings is associate professor of theology and black church studies at Duke Divinity School. As an active community member he is active teaching as a preaching minister at his local church. He is the author of numerous articles on theology, cultural identity and anthropology. Dr. Jennings is the winner of the 2015 Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Religion.
