Jenell Williams Paris, professor of sociology and anthropology, recently participated in two panel discussions for public broadcaster WITF. Paris, along with a local reproductive endocrinologist, discussed the medical and ethical issues of reproductive technologies, particularly in light of the Nadia Suleman case.

Paris appeared on a television broadcast of SmartTalk on March 20 and a SmartTalk radio broadcast on March 23.

Paul Rego, assistant professor of politics, uses the historic Federalist Papers as context for arguing that there is great value in presidential and vice presidential candidates having a deep resume of experience in national politics. Rego’s opinion piece was printed in the “York Daily Record” on October 5.

A husband and wife team on the faculty each conducted extensive research about the traditions and practices of the Amish in order to write their individual books — “Beyond the Plain and Simple: A Patchwork of Amish Lives” by Pauline Stevick, adjunct instructor of English and interdisciplinary studies, and “Growing Up Amish” by Richard Stevick, professor emeritus of psychology. The “Harrisburg Patriot-News'” book editor Mary O. Bradley featured the books in her Jan. 24 column.
