Here are a few simple steps you can take to increase your cybersecurity when it comes to app usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Update often:<\/strong> Updates are important. Not only do they provide new features for the app, but they ensure you are using the most current security technology.<\/li><li><strong>Review your app settings for privacy changes after updates<\/strong>: Sometimes new data and information are being accessed without your permission. Therefore, take a moment to review the privacy and security settings of your apps after updates.<\/li><li><strong>Be aware of apps requesting one or more of these \u201cdangerous\u201d permissions<\/strong>.<ul><li>Body sensors<\/li><li>Calendar<\/li><li> Camera<\/li><li> Contacts<\/li><li>GPS location<\/li><li>Microphone<\/li><li>Calling<\/li><li>Texting<\/li><li>Storage<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to app permissions, you should avoid permissions that aren\u2019t necessary for an app to work. If the app shouldn\u2019t need access to something, such as your camera, location, or contacts, don\u2019t allow it. Consider your privacy when deciding whether to avoid or accept an app permission request. Check your app permissions and use the \u201crule of least privilege\u201d to delete what you don\u2019t need or no longer use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are just a few cyber smart practices you can adopt right now to increase your cybersecurity when it comes to app usage.
