The Weekend is Almost Here!

TONIGHT

Join us as we endeavor to “keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

In light of a challenging political season, Messiah College Ministries warmly invites all students and employees to a service of reflection and worship in the Hostetter Chapel tonight Thursday, November 10th at 5:00 PM. Together we will hear the comforting words of Scripture, pray together in silent and corporate ways for our community and our nation, and sing Biblical truths that provide encouragement and hope.

Ski and Ride Club Trip

The Ski & Ride club is planning to organize a trip to Killington Mountain, VT. again this year during J-Term Break, and it’s time to sign up! We stay in a cabin at a camp in Vermont about 30 minutes away and ski/snowboard for 2 days. We are limited to 25-30 people, but that was not a problem last year. We cannot promise a total trip cost right now, as that completely depends on how many people come, but it should be less than $175 per person, including 2 lift tickets, 3 nights of lodging, transportation, and food for the weekend. Last year, it ended up being quite a bit cheaper than this but there are a lot of variables.

Because we plan to stay in the cabin, we need to reserve it soon, while it is still available. I would like a commitment from people by this Friday (11th), and that would include an $80 deposit so that we can reserve lodging. Tell your friends!

Looking forward to it! It should be an awesome trip again.
Contact Austin Kratz to reserve a spot on the trip or if you have any questions in regards to the trip. Thanks!

Poetry Night

All these falling leaves making you feel moody and poetic? Need a night of relaxing food and writing? Want to hang out with your favorite tutors?

Thursday, November 10th, 7pm, South Side Cafe – the Writing Center will be hosting a poetry night with FOOD and a contest! We will spend time writing together and then whoever wants a sweet prize can volunteer to read their poetry out loud. The winner will be chosen through crowd participation.

This event will be held in collaboration with the Peregrine, Messiah’s Literary Journal. If your piece gets picked by the crowd, you will get published in the Peregrine! The prompt this year is “flash fiction” – meaning any poetry/prose that’s short and sweet. Come with something pre-written or write with us there!

Basically: food, poetry, 7pm, November 10th, South Side Cafe.

Let’s write!
