Spring Registration

Hello!  The Fall semester is going fast!  Here are a few important updates from Student Financial Services in reference to Spring Course Registration.

First, spring course registration begins on the following dates:

·         Nov 7 – Seniors

·         Nov 9 – Juniors

·         Nov 11 – Sophomores

·         Nov 15 – First-Year students

(Please note:  While registration begins on the above dates, you can register for courses up to the first day of spring classes).

Second, please be aware that there are certain circumstances that can prevent you from registering for your spring courses.  These circumstances are as follows:

1.       If you have a “BO Unpaid Balance” hold for fall semester:   In the past few weeks counselors from Student Financial Services (SFS) have been contacting students with unpaid student account balances.  If you have a “BO Unpaid Balance” hold you will not be able to register for spring classes.  Please contact SFS at 717-766-2511, ext. 6004, or stop-in (Old Main 1st floor, next to Payroll. Mon – Fri, 8 am – 5 pm).  We will be happy to counsel you on the best options toward resolving your balance due.

2.       If you have not met with your academic advisor:   Advising started Oct 31.  All undergraduate students are required to meet with his/her academic advisor each semester regarding course registration for the upcoming semester.  Your advisor will release the registration hold during your meeting.

3.       If you have not completed the advisor evaluation:  Every undergraduate student must complete the advisor evaluation located at MCSquare, Academic Life tab, Registrar channel, Registration menu.

You can check your student account balance any time on MCSquare, Self-Service, Student Account, and Account Detail Listing.  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.  We are here to assist you.

Apply for Seven

Are you looking for a summer job? Do you have a passion for music? Would you like to spend your summer performing and touring with a band, leading worship, and ministering to young people while cultivating your own faith? Messiah College Seven is looking for you!! 7 is a group of multi-talented musicians from Messiah College who have a heart for ministry, performance and creativity. They write, collaborate, perform concerts and lead worship with great enthusiasm and expertise. They represent a wonderful cross-section of the Messiah College community in very positive and significant ways.

Pool Closed

Dining for Dummies & Mocktails


Ever sat down at a table and wondered which glass of water is yours or which fork to use? You’re not alone!
Answer this question and many more by attending “Dining for Dummies.” This interactive dining experience will prepare you for numerous etiquette situations by walking through how to conduct yourself during a meal. All majors and class years are welcome! It’s easy; just register for the event, and enjoy your meal!
When: Wednesday, November 9th
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Where: Hostetter Chapel
Cost: FREE (All participants who register and fail to attend will be charged to their Messiah account for their unused meal)

Afterwards, network with Messiah Alumni at “Mocktails” a networking event hosted in the Oakes Museum. Meet with alumni to learn more about their experience as students, their professional careers, and potential job opportunities. A variety of occupations and career fields will be represented, so all students are encouraged to attend!

Youth Choral Festival!

The Susquehanna Chorale and three of its educational choirs will present the Annual Youth Choral Festival on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 4:00 p.m. at the High Center.

The intergenerational event features performances by the more than 200 voices of the Susquehanna Children’s, Youth, and Young Women’s Chorales, as well as the Susquehanna Chorale.

Selections will include a varied repertoire from the traditional choral repertoire, art songs, and folk songs from around the world. The concert concludes with a special performance by the combined choirs of Mack Wilberg’s Anthem of Peace, under the direction of Linda Tedford, Founder and Artistic Director of the Susquehanna Chorale and Messiah College Director of Choral Activities.

The Susquehanna Chorale is ensemble-in-residence at Messiah College.

Messiah College Choral Arts Society Auditions


The Choral Arts Society will be performing Handel’s Messiah on April 24, 2017 in Parmer Hall at Messiah College.

Auditions for this year’s ensemble will be held December 6, 2016 and January 3, 2017 at Messiah College. Please Contact Kelly Athey at or call 717-766-2511 x 3310 to schedule your audition.

Rehearsals for this years ensemble:
Messiah College Choral Arts Society rehearses on Tuesday evenings (7:15-9:30PM). Rehearsals will take place in the Martin Choral Rehearsal Hall, in the Calvin and Janet High Center, on Messiah College campus.

About the ensemble:
Messiah College Choral Arts Society, made up of 70 members from Messiah College and the greater Harrisburg community, was founded by Messiah music professor Earl “Prof” Miller in 1946. It was originally called the Alumni Oratorio Society. Later, the name was changed to the Grantham Oratorio Society to emphasize the community in which they participated. Earl Miller directed the choir for 22 years, followed by Messiah professors Ronald Sider, who led the group for 28 years, and Ronald Miller, the 1997 interim director. In 1998, the choir was renamed the Messiah College Choral Arts Society to reflect the group’s rich heritage with the college.
