Puentedura <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/hippasus.com\/resources\/tte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in 2006<\/a><\/strong>. According to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9b5yvgKQdqE\">Common Sense Education<\/a><\/strong>, the stages are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhancement\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">S<\/span>ubstitution<\/strong>: Tech acts as a direct tool substitute, with no functional change<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">A<\/span>ugmentation<\/strong>: Tech acts as a direct tool substitute, with functional improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Transformation\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">M<\/span>odification<\/strong>: Tech allows for significant task redesign<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">R<\/span>edefinition<\/strong>: Tech allows for the creation of new tasks previously inconceivable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The video below takes this introduction a step further as Ruben Puentedura explains the levels with a higher ed perspective and some more specific examples. Despite it&#8217;s K12 origin, this framework has relevance in any instructional setting, including higher education. To start our study of this model, watch the <strong>first six minutes<\/strong> in the video below from a 2013 ISTE presentation.
