Well - we’re half way through the week! Almost Friday…
Not too much to report here … same old, same old. Worked last night and then afterwards just ended up hanging out at a friend’s house, watching a movie. Tonight, I’m going over to my academic advisor’s house for dinner. I love my advisor - she has actually become a mentor and friend. That’s one of the great things about Messiah’s faculty - they’re legitimately interested in who you are as opposed to just your grade in their gradebook. So, we’re gonna have dinner and whatnot… should be fun!
Already this morning, I’ve initiated a new ad - it happens to be in a highschool yearbook. Gets me thinking about some of the awful pictures of yourself you find in there… haha. It’s always the candids that kill ya - you know, the ones where you’re stuffing your face in the cafeteria, or the ones from that class trip where you swore no one around you had a camera while you were doing that crazy impression of your chemistry teacher. Yeah, those are the ones. I guess it’s just part of being in highschool…
Well - let me know your thoughts on yearbooks, embarrassing pictures (especially in yearbooks), and even your thoughts on ads in yearbooks!
Stay cool - I hear it’s gonna be a scorcher!

So, not too much to report here today…
I had a dinner last night for my other job and then I planned a baby shower for last night too for a woman I work with… It was lots of fun, but I didn’t get home till 12 - needless to say, I’m kinda tired.
Today’s agenda includes finishing up some last minute stuff for Purple Door and prepping for some upcoming meetings. Actually, it’s kind of a boring day in the office, especially with my internship winding down with the end of the summer.
Tonight I have to work at my other job and then afterwards, I’m probably going to start packing up some of my stuff to move this weekend. I hate packing, so here’s to hoping I actually do some of that work tonight!
Okee dokee - back to work.

Have you ever had one of those weekends you wish would never end, but seem to come and go so fast?!
I just did…
I was at the beach in New Jersey (Monmouth Beach) with a couple friends… it was great! I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend - the weather was great (hot, in fact), the waves were warm (and very rough, but good for a few knockouts), and the friends were amazing (as usual).
But reality check! I’m back at work.
It’s gonna be a busy week here - Purple Door plans and tasks, surrounded by other meetings, etc.
In addition to that, Sunday is moving day for me. This is the time when I heave and hurl all of my belongings from one side of campus to another. It’s good to be in the new “location,” but moving is a generally stressful time for me. It stinks that I have to take off work (my Red Robin job - that’s where I make all the money) and then just the stresses that come with moving all my stuff (light and HEAVY). AND THIS YEAR, since technically I was suppose to move the dates of Purple Door, I had to get an extension on my current room, making the move a day later then everyone else and having to arrange special plans to check-out and such. Oh well… it’s gotta be done.
Well… I suppose I should get back to work…
Maybe I’ll post some fun beach pictures later!

Thank God it’s FRIDAY!! And might I add, that I only have to work a 1/2 day today!? I’m going to the beach at lunchtime!!! Can’t get much better than that…
But, it’s a bit of a crazy morning here. Lots of advertising materials to fax/email off to vendors for weekend deadlines and then there’s the expected workload from Purple Door - getting stuff pulled together, making sure everyone’s on the same page, etc. So, enough said… back to work! I’ll post more once I get back on Monday!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

Good Morning!
Well, it’s Day 2 of the blogging journey, and I must admit, there’s not too much to report here. Not a lot on the work agenda today… I will just continue monitor our various advertising vendors. My last day here in the office this week - I’m leaving for the beach tomorrow at lunchtime!!
My boyfriend and I are heading to Monmouth Beach in New Jersey to meet up with a couple of friends that own a condo out there… it’s a real nice time! I guess you could say it’s out last little “hurrah” of summer… I mean, we do have some other summer plans, but this is our last “summertime activity”…At any rate - we’ll be out at the beach till late Sunday night.
Next week will be a busy week for me - I will come home Sunday night, I work Monday morning here in Enrollment, Monday night I have a dinner for all of the CDTs at Red Robin (yes, I’m a trainer/server at Red Robin), and then I’m throwing a baby shower for a girl I work with that evening. Then all next week will be spent in preparation for Purple Door, which is next weekend. Should be a busy week!!
Anyways - I can’t believe school starts in like 3 weeks!! This is ridiculous!! Where did the summer go!? Although I’m very excited for my last year! I think the reality-check hit me when I was writing in my planner all the academic calendar holidays, including GRADUATION!!! So pumped!
Ok… well enough said - I’m sure I’ll be back later!

Just thought I would post up some pictures of one of the cool things I get to do with my internship here in the Office of Enrollment Management.
These pictures are featured from Creation Festival 2007 (Northeast).
At this event, I helped prepare and gathering materials that would aid in advertising Messiah College during the week. We faced some stiff competition from Liberty University, since they were the sponsors, but we did well…
But don’t let me fool you, it wasn’t just all work - some was play, hence the super close picture of DAVID CROWDER BAND!! My personal fave…
Let me know what ya think!
I am key in planning another big event like Creation - it’s called Purple Door and I get to be one of the point people for Messiah. If you like great music and you’re in the area, stop out!

Well, I was just asked by the Office of Marketing and Public Relations if I would be willing to blog as a “day in the life of a Messiah College student,” and I couldn’t be more honored.
Let me tell you a little about myself…
I am a 22 year old, senior, Public Relations and Advertising major and a Church Music minor. I have done nothing less than enjoy my time here at Messiah. Now, I know you must be thinking that I’m just saying that in order to promote the college, but NO! In fact, I do love it here! Let’s see… I have been apart of so many things here at Messiah - Varsity Women’s Volleyball, Worship Community (more specifically, I was the worship leader for Kairos elective chapels), Life Groups, the HOST program, and I’m currently interning in the Office of Enrollment Management as their Advertising Representative. I love the job… it’s giving me great experience for my post-graduation ventures.
Speaking of post-graduation ventures, I have been asked so many times what I want to do after I graduate. I really like the area of Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg, so I’d like to stay out this way. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and would just be looking for a change in pace. And really, Mechanicsburg is within driving distance to a lot of major cities - Harrisburg, Philly, Baltimore, D.C., and NYC. In terms of a career, I would love to work for a Marketing or Public Relations agency - ideally someone who would pay for me to pursue graduate school. Who knows, maybe I’ll even look into working for Messiah? In my free time, I would love to be involved as a worship leader for a church. Someday, I hope to go to Hillsong, Australia to study at Hillsong under Darlene Zschech and graduate with a B.A. in Worship & Creative Arts.
Ultimately, I want to take my experience in marketing and public relations and marketing myself as a Contemporary Christian recording artist… but we’ll see where God leads.
At any rate - that’s just a short intro into my life…
Feel free to ask questions or make comments!!
Check back… I’ll update frequently!
