Shortly after 8 p.m. each Thursday evening, hundreds of students make their way across the College’s Grantham campus to Hostetter Chapel. Inside the chapel sanctuary, the air is filled with a lively spirit of worship, as the students prepare to experience Powerhouse. Initiated and led solely by students, Powerhouse is a high-energy praise session entirely dedicated to honoring God through music and meditation. Though participation and attendance is completely voluntary, Powerhouse never fails to attract several hundred busy students each week who have an obvious desire to worship and seek the Lord. learn more . . .

“I learned so much about poverty and about the country in general. However, the most important thing I learned is that God is working everywhere in the world. We met some truly amazing people in Nicaragua who opened their homes to us and called us brothers and sisters without knowing us at all. I could see Jesus in their smiles and their hearts. One man, Antonio, has a smile that lights up his entire face, and he is so in love with the Lord. I’ve always believed that God is working everywhere, but I actually saw it for myself on this trip.”

Our last Fall 2009 Open House is coming soon - November 9th
Discover for yourself why approximately 2,800 young men and women have chosen Messiah College. We invite you to plan a visit to our campus in Grantham, PA (just ten miles south of Harrisburg) for one of the Open House days listed below.
Check-in for all open house days is at 9:00 a.m. in the main lobby of the Eisenhower Campus Center. The noon meal will be provided FREE to registered guests. Other highlights include campus tours and information sessions on admissions policies, financial aid, academic programs, and campus life. If these dates don’t suit, feel free to contact us and we’ll arrange for an individual visit!

 Messiah College’s Philadelphia Campus (MCPC) combines the intimate spiritual community of Messiah College and the diversity of a large urban institution, Temple University, with a multitude of opportunities in the city of Philadelphia. Daily exposure to multiple cultures, mingling with urbanites of every description on the streets of the city, and involvement in a variety of urban churches and ministries all contribute to the educational ideals of Messiah College. College is the beginning of a brand new adventure for hundreds of incoming Messiah students. In the midst of orientations, placement exams, and settling into dorm rooms, the second day of orientation week is set aside to expose first-year students to life beyond the Messiah College campus. Before the first textbook is opened or the first lecture heard, students have the opportunity to build relationships with their peers while learning about the surrounding community and serving those in need. Larsen Student Union, located at the center of campus, will be central to your social life at Messiah. It’s a great place to meet new people, hang out with friends, or get together with classmates for a group study session (don’t forget your cup of coffee or fruit smoothie from the Union Café!)

One measure of the value of your college education is how well your education will translate into a job or graduate school opportunity. Messiah students are in demand in both areas.
- Each year, over 400 eager employers and some of the nation’s best graduate schools welcome new Messiah graduates into their organizations. Many of these organizations actively seek out Messiah grads.
- Six months after graduation, 99% of graduates surveyed either are employed, in voluntary service, or attending graduate schools.
As a Messiah student, you’ll be prepared to succeed wherever life after college may take you - a career, ministry, or graduate school.

When asked by an independent consultant in a survey if they would choose Messiah again, 88% of current students and 76% of alumni respondants said, “Yes!”
