Grammy Award winning jazz group Snarky Puppy to perform at Messiah College

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2016) — Messiah College Department of Music presents the world-renowned jazz group, Snarky Puppy, as part of its Performing Art Series. The performance will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. in Parmer Hall, located in The Calvin and Janet High Center. Snarky Puppy specializes in sophisticated composition, harmonies and improvisation. Their unique talent led them to win both a Grammy and a Reader’s Poll. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children/students. Tickets can be purchased online at messiah.edu/tickets.

About Snarky Puppy
Formed in 2004 at the University of North Texas, the group has toured and recorded with Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and an original ensemble. In 2014, they received their first Grammy Award for best R&B performance, and were voted “Best Jazz Group” in Downbeat’s 2015 Reader’s Poll, as well as “Best New Artist” and “Best Electric/Jazz- Rock/Contemporary Group/Artist” in Jazz Times’ 2014 Reader’s Poll. They have earned accolades from the BBC to the Los Angeles Times, and All Music recently called the group “one of modern music’s bright lights.”
