International touring group “Azaguno” to perform at Messiah College on March 18

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 10, 2016) — Messiah College School of the Arts will host Azaguno: African Drum and Dance Ensemble on March 18. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in Messiah College’s Parmer Hall, located in the High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. This multi-ethnic show will feature traditional African, African-American, Carribean and Latin American music and dance. It is open to the public, and tickets can be purchased via the ticket office at 717-691-6036 or messiah.edu/tickets. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for students (with ID). For more information, visit http://www.messiah.edu/info/21433/cultural_series. Messiah will also host a dance clinic on Tuesdsay, March 15 and a Percussion Clinic on March 16. Both events are free and open to the public. No Tickets required.

About Azaguno
Azaguno, founded in 2001, is a colorful and vibrant multi-ethnic ensemble and international touring group which uses drum, voice, dance and other visual art to produce a unique, African theatrical performance. The group, comprised of 15 musicians and dancers, is co-founded and directed by Dr. Paschal Yao Younge, a native of Ghana who is an associate professor of multicultural music education at Ohio University, with Dr. Zelma Badu-Younge as dance director and choreographer.
