Messiah College theatre department presents “Journey to the West”

March 13th, 2014

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 13, 2014) — The Messiah College Department of Theatre and Dance presents Mary Zimmerman’s play “Journey to the West” April 3-6 and April 10-13.  Showtimes for “Journey to the West are 8 p.m. for all shows except for April 6 and 13 at 3 p.m.  This production is suitable for all ages.  General admission tickets cost $10; student and senior tickets cost $7.  To purchase a ticket, contact the Messiah College Ticket Office at 717-691-6036 or visit messiah.edu/theatretickets.

The play, directed by Adjunct Instructor in Theatre Clair Myers, will be staged in Miller Theater located in the Climenhaga Building.

About “Journey to the West”
One of the four great classical novels in Chinese literature, “Journey to the West” is at once an adventure story, a spring of spiritual insight and an extended allegory in which the group of pilgrims journeying toward India represents individuals journeying towards enlightenment.
