Messiah College theatre department presents “The Taming of the Shrew”

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 24, 2014) — The Messiah College Department of Theatre and Dance presents William Shakespeare’s production “The Taming of the Shrew” Nov. 13 through Nov. 16 and Nov. 20 through Nov. 23. Show times are 8 p.m. on Nov. 13 through 15 and Nov. 20 through 22, and 3 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 23. General admission tickets cost $10; student and senior citizen tickets cost $7. Messiah College offers free showing of “Misa’s Fugue” on Nov. 13

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2014) — Messiah College, along with the Jewish Federation of Greater  Harrisburg, will offer a free, public showing of the award-winning Holocaust documentary “Misa’s Fugue” on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in Parmer Hall located in the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts. Admission is free; no ticket is required. The Jewish Federation will offer free transportation to Messiah College from the Jewish Community Center at 3301 North Front Street, Harrisburg. The Sider Institute co-sponsors “What Young Historians Are Thinking” on Oct. 27

(Oct. 8, 2014) — The Sider Institute for Anabaptist, Pietist, and Wesleyan Studies at Messiah College and the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society co-sponsor “What Young Historians Are Thinking” Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Three young Anabaptist historians under thirty will present short papers and take questions. Presenters and presentations include Brooke Strayer, “Tracing the Trajectory of the Brethren in Christ Peace Position in the United States”; Moira E. Mackay, “Lift up thy voice like a trumpet: Anne Knight and the Fight for the Enfranchisement of Humanity”; and Ted Maust, “John F. Funk and the Herald of Truth: Creating a Mennonite Social Network.” Admission is free; no ticket is required.
