GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 17, 2012) — Messiah College is one of 148 colleges and universities nationwide to receive Tree Campus USA designation from the Arbor Day Foundation. Tree Campus USA recognizes sustainably managed college campuses and their commitments to effective community forestry management.
Tree Campus USA was launched in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation as a way to honor colleges, universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of environmental stewardship. Continue reading…

GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 5, 2012) — The School of Science, Engineering and Health at Messiah College will host a symposium to explore the work and research of its students and faculty. The symposium will take place on April 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Jordan, Kline and Frey academic buildings located on the college’s Grantham campus. This event is free and open to the public. GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 2, 2012) — The Messiah College Choral Arts Society will perform Arthur Honegger’s “King David” with chorus, professional orchestra and soloists on April 22. The concert will take place 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 2000 Chestnut St. in Camp Hill. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $5 for students, and they can be purchased by calling the Messiah College ticket office at 717-691-6036 or by visiting messiah.edu/tickets.
This three-part dramatic psalm, performed in English, narrates the biblical life of King David, including his rise from shepherd boy to king of Israel, his victories in battle, moral fall, repentance and death. The piece was written by Arthur Honegger, a Swiss composer born in France, and includes narration from the French author René Morax. Continue reading…
