Auditions open for Choral Arts Society at Messiah College

 GRANTHAM, Pa. (Nov. 21, 2011) — Public auditions for the upcoming season of the Messiah College Choral Arts Society, a college-community choral ensemble, will be held on Dec. 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Jan. 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. All auditions will take place in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center, room C-47, on the college’s Grantham campus.  High school students, college students and adults with previous choral experience are encouraged to audition. Singers should come prepared with a piece; an accompanist will be provided. Entering its 66th season, the Choral Arts Society rehearses on Tuesday nights from Jan. 10 until the concert on April 22.  Repertoire for the season includes Arthur Honegger’s dramatic “King David.”

About the Choral Arts Society
The Choral Arts Society, a college and community choir comprised of Messiah College students and community members from south-central Pa, is conducted by Linda L. Tedford, director of choral activities at Messiah College and founder and director of the Susquehanna Chorale, the new resident ensemble at Messiah College. Tedford also conducts the Messiah College Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Men’s Ensemble, along with teaching conducting and voice.
