About Donald Miller
At the age of 21, Miller left his hometown of Houston, Texas and traveled across the country until he ran out of money, landing in Portland, Oregon, where he resides today. His first book, “Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance” was published in 2000. Two years later, he wrote “Blue Like Jazz,” which turned into a New York Times Bestseller and inspired Steve Taylor and Ben Pearson to team up with Miller in creating a movie based on the book. Aside from writing, Miller is the founder of The Belmont Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to provide mentors for fatherless children. Additionally he delivers lectures to a variety of audiences, most notably the Veritas Forum at Harvard University and California Polytechnic State University.
