Award-winning Christian author Philip Yancey to be final Centennial keynote speaker at Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 16, 2010) — Philip Yancey, one of the most significant Christian thinkers and writers today, will present the last keynote lecture for the Centennial year at Messiah College.  The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. on April 7, in Brubaker Auditorium located in the Eisenhower Campus Center. After the lecture, there will be a book signing with Yancey in the Eisenhower Campus Center Commons. The event is free and open to the public, and seating is available by ticket only. About Philip Yancey
Yancey writes a variety of literature, but focuses mainly on freelance writing. He has written over 600 articles that have appeared in 80 different publications, including “Reader’s Digest,” “Publisher’s Weekly” and “Saturday Evening Post.” Yancey is also the author of 16 books, which have won 11 Gold Medallion Awards from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association and have sold more than five million copies. Some of these books include “Where Is God When It Hurts?,” “The Student Bible,” and “Disappointment with God.” He currently serves as the editor-at-large for “Christianity Today” magazine and is considered one of America’s most popular Christian authors.
