April 14th, 2009

GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 14, 2009) — Messiah College is offering motivated students who have completed grades 6-11 the opportunity to learn about archaeology, engineering design, rocketry, printmaking and may other subjects in its weeklong Summer Academy, August 3-7. Taught by Messiah faculty and local gifted support teachers, each course provides a hands-on, interactive learning experience. Students can choose one or two, 90-minute class sessions for a one-time $30 registration fee and $150 tuition fee. Class sizes are limited and the registration deadline is July 15. For more information, visit www.messiah.edu/academy, email summeracademy@messiah.edu or call (717) 796-5219.

Messiah College’s Summer Academy gives students the freedom to learn simply for the joy of learning, without the pressure of tests or grades. In this relaxed but academically challenging environment, students acquire knowledge and understanding on new topics of interest—while developing self-confidence, leadership, teamwork and communication skills.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls 2,800 undergraduate students in 55 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
