Messiah College follows “The Road to (and from) the 2008 Elections” with political analyst Morris Fiorina

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 12, 2009) — On April 2, Messiah College will host Morris Fiorina, distinguished lecturer and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. Fiorina will speak about “The Road to (and from) the 2008 Elections.” As a political analyst, Fiorina specializes in elections, public opinion and the U.S. Congress. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. and will take place in Parmer Cinema located in Boyer Hall on the college’s Grantham campus.

In addition to his fellowship at the Hoover Institution, Fiorina is a professor of political science at Stanford University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. His book “Culture War: The Myth of a Polarized America,” earned him national media attention in 2004. Fiorina’s next book, which comes out this year, is “Disconnect: The Breakdown of Representation in the United States.” Fiorina has also published numerous articles and several other books on national politics. He has served on the editorial boards of more than 12 journals on political science, law, political economy and public policy.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls 2,800 undergraduate students in 55 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
