14th Annual Friends of Murray Library used book sale held at Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 4, 2009) — The Messiah College Friends of Murray Library will hold its 14th annual used book sale beginning March 28 and continuing through April 1 in Murray Library on the college’s Grantham campus. The sale will operate during normal library hours (Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. to midnight; Monday- Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to midnight).

Approximately 25,000 books will be offered at the sale. Most books are priced from $0.50 to $3.00. Better, rare or collectible books and sets are priced individually. Other materials for sale include DVDs, videos, LP records, music scores, CDs, cassettes, maps and home-schooling resources. On March 31, all books will be half price; on April 1, books will sell at $5 per bag.

Proceeds will be used to support Murray Library’s special collections. Revenue from the sale is also used to fund annual Library Research Grants for Messiah College students and to bring to campus various speakers and programs open to the public without charge.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls 2,800 undergraduate students in 55 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
