Friends of Murray Library at Messiah College seeking book donations for annual used book sale

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Jan. 23, 2009) — Friends of Murray Library at Messiah College is currently seeking donations of hardcover and paperback books for its 14th Annual Used Book Sale to be held March 28-April 1. Children’s books, CDs, DVDs, videos, music scores, and maps are also being collected.

Readers may drop off donations of books and other materials at Murray Library, located on Messiah College’s Grantham campus, any time throughout the year during operating hours. The library is open Mon. through Thurs. from 7:30 a.m. to midnight, Fri. 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sat. from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sun. from 2 p.m. to midnight. Proceeds from the book sale will be used to fund special collections for Murray Library, to finance annual Library Research Grants for Messiah College students, and to sponsor public lectures and programs. Sale remnants have gone to Teen Challenge, Rwanda, Better World Books, Ghana, Mississippi, Glad Tidings India, and ProQuo Books.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls 2,800 undergraduate students in more than 60 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
