Science and theology symposium at Messiah College features Robert Russell

Robert_RussellGRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 22, 2009) — Physicist and theologian Robert Russell will speak at Messiah College on Nov. 14. Russell will present “From Creation to New Creation” during three public lectures that are part of a science and theology symposium sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Forum for Religion and Science. All three lectures will take place in Hostetter Chapel located on the college’s Grantham campus and begin at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Advanced tickets are $25 before Nov. 1 and $35 until the day of the event. Messiah College to host November open house

Messiah College theatre department to perform “The Comedy of Errors”

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2009) — The Department of Theatre at Messiah College will continue its fall season by performing “The Comedy of Errors,” William Shakespeare’s shortest play. The play revolves around the story of two sets of identical twins that get separated shortly after birth. When both sets of twins appear in the same town 30 years later, confusion and comedy plague the town as they go about discovering their true identities. The play will be performed Nov. 12-14 and 19-21 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 15 and 22 at 3 p.m. All performances will take place in Miller Auditorium located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. Emerging artists to perform for free weekly concert series at Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 20, 2009) — Sponsored by Messiah College’s Student Activities Board, “B-Sides,” a semester-long concert series, brings bands with diverse musical styles to campus every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. for free concerts. Messiah College Department of Education to host educational research forum

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 20, 2009) — Each year, the department of education at Messiah College presents faculty research findings at an annual educational research forum. This year the forum will be held on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. in Room 131 of Boyer Hall, located on the college’s Grantham campus. Nancy Patrick, associate professor of special education at Messiah College, will present her research on “Research and Development of the Wireless Enabled Remote Co-presence: Assistive Technology to Improve Employment Outcomes for Secondary Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.” Continue reading…

Messiah College Concert Choir to perform with Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra

(Oct. 29, 2009) — The Messiah College Concert Choir will perform Haydn’s “Creation” with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra on Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. The performance, sponsored by Messiah College, will take place at The Forum in Harrisburg, Pa., under the direction of Stuart Malina. Piscataway Indian Nation singers and dancers to perform at Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct.16, 2009) — The Piscataway Indian Nation Singers & Dancers will bring authentic American Indian dance, drum and song to Messiah College on Nov. 6. Famous for their internationally-recognized living history program, the group travels throughout Europe, Canada and the United States performing educational and entertaining shows. President of World Vision to speak at Messiah College

The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. in Alexander Auditorium, located in Frey Hall on the college’s Grantham campus. World Vision is one of the largest non-profit relief and development organizations in the United States dedicated to working throughout the world with children, families and communities struck by poverty and injustice.
