Intersection of religion and science explored in lecture by Peter Enns at Messiah College

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Aug. 26, 2008) — Peter Enns’ academic interest in Old Testament theology, the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament and the intersection of biblical studies with evangelical thinking about Scripture will infuse his “Genesis and Evangelicals” lecture at Messiah College on Sept. 16. The Central Pennsylvania Forum for Religion and Science is sponsoring the talk which is free and open to the public. The lecture takes place at 7 p.m. in Hostetter Chapel on Messiah’s Grantham campus.
Enns is a 1982 graduate of Messiah College. He earned a M.Div. at Westminster Theological Seminary and completed a Ph.D. in near eastern languages and civilizations at Harvard University.
Enns is the author or contributor to several books, including “Exodus Retold: Ancient Exegesis of the Departure from Egypt in Wis 10:15-21 and 19:1-9,” “Inspiration and Incarnation: Evangelicals and the Problem of the Old Testament” and “Invitation to Genesis.”
