About Robert Randolph & the Family Band
Robert Randolph & the Family Band, a multicultural American funk and soul band, have been hailed by critics as passionate, rich and original in their performance style. Their inspiration arises from the “sacred steel” tradition in the House of God Church and Pentecostal tradition, which uses steel guitar in worship services. In 2003, Robert Randolph was listed as one of “Rolling Stone’s” 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and has also been nominated for a Grammy award. The band’s tours have taken them across the U.S., Canada and Europe, and their reputation for audience-participatory concerts has spread, as the band often calls audience members up on stage to dance, sing or even play guitar for a song.

Since their inception in 2002, Robert Randolph & the Family Band have risen to quick popular acclaim. Films like “Stomp the Yard” and the show “Grey’s Anatomy” have featured the band’s hit single, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That,” on their soundtracks. Artists such as the Dave Matthews Band and Eric Clapton have invited the group to open for them on various tours.
