GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2008) — Bold string sounds and rich Brazilian tradition fuse for a thrilling performance by the Turtle Island Quartet and the Assad Brothers in the second concert of Messiah College’s Cultural Series season. The unique collaboration, titled “string theory,” will be performed on Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. in Miller Auditorium, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2008) — The Friends of Murray Library at Messiah College is currently seeking donations of hardcover and paperback books for its 14th annual used book sale to be held March 28-April 1, 2009. Children’s books, CDs, DVDs, videos, music scores, and maps are also being collected.
Readers may drop off donations of books and other materials at Murray Library, located on Messiah College’s Grantham campus, any time throughout the year during operating hours. The library is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to midnight. GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2008) — Beginning with a reception on Oct. 23 and continuing to Oct. 26, Messiah College’s Aughinbaugh Art Gallery will host the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) exhibit showcasing the work of National Art Honor Society students from around the state. The reception is part of PAEA State Conference and will be attended by several hundred conference participants. All of the displays are free and open to the public, beginning Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. with normal gallery hours to follow.
