GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 29, 2008) – Sponsored by Messiah College’s Student Activities Board, “B-Sides,” a semester-long concert series, brings bands with diverse musical styles to campus every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. for free concerts. Each concert is open to the public; no tickets are required. All bands perform in Larsen Student Union, located on the college’s Grantham campus. (Please note that there will be no B-Sides concert on Nov. 26 due to Thanksgiving recess.) Continue reading…

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 23, 2008) —Entering its 63rd season, the Choral Arts Society of Messiah College will hold public auditions in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus on Nov. 13 from 6-9:30 p.m., Nov. 14 from 3-8 p.m. and Jan. 6 from 6-8 p.m. Singers should prepare a piece for the audition; an accompanist will be provided. Tuesday rehearsals begin Jan. 13 from 7-9:15 p.m. in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center, and the performance is April 19 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. (Oct. 23, 2008) — Follow the story of three educated and cultured young women searching to find meaning in each of their lives in Messiah College theatre department’s production of “The Three Sisters.” The play will be performed Nov. 13-15 and 20-22 at 8:00 p.m and Nov. 16 and 23 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Each show will be performed in Miller Auditorium in the Climenhega Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. (Oct. 15, 2008) — The Messiah College School of the Arts will present two concerts in November: the jazz combo will perform Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus; and the First Annual Messiah College Instrumental Showcase will debut on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Forum, 5th and Walnut Streets in downtown Harrisburg. GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 9, 2008) — Plastic toy eyes, paint, sculpture and video join for a unique display of Judeo-Christian art in the twenty-first century at Messiah College’s Aughinbaugh Art Gallery. On view from Oct. 31 to Nov. 26, the Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) exhibition, titled “The Next Generation: Contemporary Expressions of Faith,” displays painting, collage, sculpture, film, photography and various forms of media in an attempt to explore the relationship between the visual arts and the Christian faith. All displays are free and open to the public, on view during normal gallery hours.
