A baby blue salad parfait and white chocolate bread pudding won over the tastebuds of the more than 1,000 people who attended an Oct. 30 fundraiser for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Messiah’s dining services team was awarded the People’s Choice Award (won previously in 2009) and the Best in Food Award.

It’s a repeat! Messiah College’s Dining Services has once again been awarded an Excellence in Food Safety recognition by the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association. Dining Services also received the award in 2007.

The letter of recognition reads, “Due to outstanding efforts taken by you, your employees and students in food safety and sanitation, Messiah College Dining Services has been chosen as a winner for the 9^th Annual PRA Excellence in Food Safety Award. You are a credit to your industry and your association.”

 Larsen Student Union’s eatery, The Union Cafe, has been recognized with a Silver Medal from the National Association of College and University Food Services in the Retail Sales-Single Concept category.

The category is for college campus eateries specifically, not dining halls or cafeterias.  The recognition is based on a variety of aspects of The Union Café’s menu and service, including atmosphere, nutrition and wellness offerings, online ordering capabilities, and menu variety.
