Messiah takes plunge and adds swim program

Grant will expand mentoring programs for at-risk youth

“Messiah College is deeply committed to being a community and educational resource in the city of Harrisburg,” said President Kim Phipps in response to the news that the college’s Harrisburg Institute received a $630,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to expand mentoring initiatives for at-risk youth.

Faculty member co-authors book about Amish forgiveness

Messiah’s David Weaver-Zercher co-authored “Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy,” a book that explores the religious beliefs and habits that led the Amish to forgive so quickly after the tragic Nickel Mines school shooting, will be available Sept. 21. Read an expert from the book.
