The Home Stretch
I am back at Messiah after a refreshing Thanksgiving Break. Being free from studying and tests and homework and classes is such a relief. You put everything you have into your studies and work and after awhile, you just need to get away. It seems these breaks come just in time.
I was out near Pittsburgh with my girlfriend’s family and had an enjoyable time. We watched a little football on Thanksgiving, but not too much. I had my fill of Turkey and can’t really say what I did that night. I think we all just retired to the living room and watched TV, but I can’t recall what we watched. We just kind of sat around doing nothing. I am ok with that though.
Last night my girlfriend, my brother, my one roommate, and I went to a Hershey Bear’s hockey game (right next to Hershey Park) and it was awesome. I have watched a game or two at some point in the past 21 years, but I can’t say I was ever a fan or anything. This was my first time to a real game, and it was sweet. We had amazing seats, 3 rows from the glass just behind and to the side of the one goal. We saw some crazy hits and a fight. I wouldn’t condone fighting, but in the atmosphere of a hockey game, it was pretty cool (and contained).
For now it’s back to the books, but only for a little while. We’ve hit the home stretch for this semester as far as I am concerned. Only about 3-4 weeks (I haven’t really checked) until Christmas Break. That will be truly sweet.
