As my first year at Messiah College comes to an end I begin to look back and evaluate what I enjoyed most about this year and what I would like to change in the years to come. One of the things I enjoyed the most was becoming part of the different clubs on campus. I learned the importance of learning how to work with other people and of being able to share the accomplishments and help each other through the failures. Finding yourself is an important part of the college experience and I feel that the best way to do that is in the context of a group. It is much easier to find our strengths and weaknesses when we are able to work with other people. The word community is used very often here and although sometimes it becomes repetitive I have found that becoming part of a team (and of the larger community) is a very important step to learning more about yourself. So whether next year is your first year or your senior year I encourage you to become involved with on campus organizations. You will get to meet amazing people and will definitely learn much about yourself too!
