Jerry Chaplin, Messiah’s athletic director, along with other athletic directors in the mid-state, was interviewed for a Feb. 22 Patriot-News story about how local athletic programs are faring with reduced budgets. Chaplin noted that Messiah isn’t only looking for ways to reduce costs but is also creatively thinking through ways to increase revenue through its athletic programs.

The question of age will be irrelevant if a resume is well developed and focused on the applicant’s accomplishments and competencies, according to an article in the February 19 Philadelphia Examiner. Dwayne Keiffer, assistant director of career development, weighed in on how candidates can omit their age from their resume.

“When you think of a perennial power in the MAC Commonwealth Conference, Messiah is the only one,” writes Patriot-News sportswriter James Phillips in his Feb. 13 “College Corner” about the women’s basketball team. “The names may change, but the rich tradition remains the same.” The Falcons are on a 15-game winning streak and have recorded 45 consecutive regular-season home victories at Brubaker Auditorium.
