Chris Boyles chases his Olympic dream

With the Olympic trials just barely a week away, Messiah College alumnus Chris Boyles `02 talked with the Carlisle “Sentinel” in the June 22 edition about the challenges of finding the time and money to pursue his dream of representing the United States in the decathlon in this year’s Summer Olympics.

Alumnus authors book and fights cancer

Just weeks after his book, “The Hunted,” was accepted for national release through Realms Fiction, Messiah College alumnus and author Mike Dellosso learned that he had stage III colon cancer. Dellosso spoke about the book and his battle with cancer to the York Daily Record in the June 8 edition.

Career counselor’s advice mentioned on MSN

Dwayne Keiffer, assistant director of career development at Messiah, is quoted in an online article at msn.careerbuilder.com. Keiffer, when responding to the advice “weigh the entire benefits package,” reminds job searchers to evaluate the benefits package and not just focus on salary.

Alums complete Peace Corp stint

Messiah College graduates Eli and RyAnn Heller have traveled extensively. Recently returned from a two-year stint with the Peace Corp in the Philippines, the Hellers leave in August for China where they will spend two years teaching in Chinese schools. They first heard about the Peace Corps while students at Messiah College.

Nick Kipe jumps to record length

June 2nd, 2008

A leap of 48 feet, 10 inches was enough for Messiah senior Nick Kipe to not only earn second place in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships but also to beat his older brother Hylton’s record by a mere four centimeters.
