Messiah College baseball earned a spot in NCAA Division III play, thanks in part to a contigent of players from the Lancaster-Lebanon region. A recent “Lancaster Intelligencer Journal” article proudly claims 10 players and coach Bryan Engle as local boys.

First-year student Quinn Dillon came to Messiah College from Maine with experience as his high school mascot Dexter the Tiger. He didn’t anticipate quickly landing a role as Messiah’s mascot — Fandango the Falcon — and then going “pro” for a Class AA minor league baseball team. Now, Dillon will spend the summer as Rascal for the Harrisburg Senators.
