I got 99 problems but a virus aint one…now at least

Totals for this week:
1 midterm, 2 volleyball classes, 3 hours of work, 4 workout sessions missed
7 or 8 two-hour naps in 48 hours plus an ultra-extended night’s sleep
45 minute wait to see the nurse at the Engle Center
$3 charge for meds that I swear were supposed to be prescribed for another malady
an entire Smith apartment sick, and I don’t even live there

All thanks to a stealthy, shameless “version of the stomach flu” that somehow crept up on me when I actually started getting serious about all the stuff I need to get done before spring break, like say…the job search that was on the verge of getting somewhere and studying for midterms and reading for my senior seminar paper and trying to contract my staff writers into getting stories in the next Swinging Bridge. How convenient. I had a million and one things to do, but you know, viruses don’t care. The lesson learned here is similar to many words of advice given to single women on the prowl: it’ll come when you least expect it and you don’t need it.

Agenda for the weekend consists of sushi in Harrisburg, Eurotrash party at the Resto. House at 11 tonight and lots of investigative journalism for the next SB issue.

Here’s a picture of my partners in crime (spring break 08!) planning our much-awaited trip:
