Spring Break on the mind

It just occurred to me that Spring Break starts at the end of next week. So technically, I can say that next week, we’ll be in hot and sunny Florida. Considering the current state of our bank accounts, my friends and I have given up the romanticized notion of a senior spring break in the DR, the Bahamas, Hawaii or any exotic island. Instead, we (me plus two good friends) are driving down to my parents’ house in Florida and planning our own beach crawl: Daytona, the beaches of St. Pete’s, Tampa, and we want to do all the water sports possible including ride the iconic banana boat. We’ll also hit up Sea World, downtown Disney and Universal Studios City Walk while we’re down there. We’re pretty excited and can’t really focus on much else (too bad I have two midterms, a 15-page senior thesis draft and the Swinging Bridge to worry about until then). So research on how to catch and fillet a fish and brainstorming things to do on the 16-hour ride down so that we don’t hate each other before we arrive at our destination are easily trumping my senior thesis. Senioritis strikes again.
