2009-10 Pre-Season rankings

Five Messiah wrestlers have been highlighted in the d3wrestle.com 2009-2010 pre-season rankings, the entity announced Tuesday.

Senior Trent Zempel led the way, being named the sixth-rated grappler at the 165-pound weight class - a tremendous honor considering that the Conrad, Mont. native missed the majority of the 2008-2009 schedule with a torn ACL in his right knee. Read more

Messiah rolls into playoffs with wins

Top-ranked Messiah blasts E’Town

A rainy, windy night served as the backdrop at a muddy Ira R. Herr Field Saturday (10/31). For the Falcons, it didn’t seem to matter. Messiah blanked host Elizabethtown in a 5-0 win, the team’s third straight shutout and 12th of the season. Box score.

Falcons Dispatch New League Foe Shenandoah By 13-0 Spread

Just 64 fans were present on a cold, rainy Tuesday afternoon (10/27) to watch top-ranked Messiah take on Shenandoah University at Anderson Field.

The competitiveness of the game, as it would turn out, wouldn’t be much better than the weather.

Messiah - ranked atop the NFHCA/Kookaburra Top 20 Poll for the seventh consecutive week - defeated the visiting Hornets by a score of 13-0, duplicating the team’s result from a year ago.

It was the Falcons’ 16th consecutive win of the season, easily setting single-season high marks for goals scored and shots taken (43). Read more
