Chalkboard Graffiti
Last night was the annual Da Blazin’ Footprintz hip hop performance, “Chalkboard Graffiti.” The outreach group consists of approximately 25 freshman, sophomore, junior and senior girls who meet throughout the course of the year to learn dance routines and to mentor children in an after-school program at a local school in Harrisburg.
Da Blazin Footprintz show their audience that hip hop can be used to send a positive message. The dancers wear appropriate costumes and choregraph dances tastefully.
The routines are choreographed by several individuals, whose majors range from Psychology, to Business/Marketing, to Broadcasting. The hip hop synergizes modern with classical, including some ballet and tap.
Tickets are on sale for Friday, April 24 at 7:30, and cost only $4 for over an hour and a half of high-energy entertainment.

In my easter bonnet
It’s almost that time. Tomorrow the college campus will be emptying out for the four day weekend. Although I’m hanging around an extra day to work at my internship, I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and focusing on the great gift we have of Jesus as our Savior. Holidays like Christmas and Easter are very special to me because of my 7 year-old sister. While my family is Christian, my little sister Deanna does a great job of reminding us all exactly what these holidays are about. She definitely has that innocent faith and love of a child that we are all called to have in our relationship with God. Especially now, I have to keep reminding myself to put all of my trust in God and his plan for me. I have yet to secure a job and graduation is only 38 days away…not that I’m counting or anything. Maybe Deanna can teach me some more about life when I’m home. I’m sure she’ll try to convince me to live at home after I graduate.
