Homecoming!
Fall break has passed
, and now homecoming’s right around the corner! I’m looking forward to having old friends return to campus to visit for the first time after graduation. I still can’t believe they’re really gone. For some reason I still expect to see their faces around campus. But that’s another story…
This year I’m involved with the Senior Public Relations campaign class and we are working for CURE International. CURE International is a non-profit faith-based organization that works in developing countries to provide affordable and practical medical care for families in need. CURE has helped cure Hydrocephalus, Cleft Palate, Clubfoot, Spina Bifida and other spinal deformities, and crippling orthopedic conditions for individuals who would be outcast from society without treatment. Visit CURE’s Web site at: http://www.helpcurenow.org/site/c.nvI1IeNYJyE/b.3389445/k.B837/Non_Profit_Charity_Help_for_Physically_Disabled_Children.htm
At homecoming our public relations team will be conducting intercept surveys to gather information and handing out CURE bracelets, SO COME OUT AND SEE ME BEFORE THE GAME OR AT HALF TIME!!!! We’ll be wearing black, long-sleeved t-shirts.

Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve written. Fall semester of senior year has been keeping me pretty busy. But good news, it’s almost half way over!!!! YAY! Oh. And I think I’m getting sick. Not good.
The trees are turning colors and they’re absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite things to do is to drive around and just enjoy the scenery. Fall is probably my most favorite time of the year. You know, the jeans-and-sweatshirt kind of weather.
Last week I went to the Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women in Pittsburgh; it was awesome! I went with my supervisor for my internship at the Pennsylvania Department of State. While there we answered questions about voter registration and handed out registration forms so that every eligible voter is prepared to vote at this year’s presidential election. TODAY’S THE DEADLINE IF YOU HAVEN’T REGISTERED YET!!!! I also had the opportunity to go to the keynote lectures as well as workshops on web 2.0, viral marketing and financial planning. If you ever have the opportunity to go to one of these conferences, GO, it’s worth the money! Most of the day I was running off of an adrenaline rush as we had been up since 5:30 a.m., and I was just soooo excited. Hopefully I landed an internship/job *fingers crossed and prayers being said*.
Fall break is this week and I cannot wait!! I’m going to New York and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be visiting with my boyfriend and friends. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to some job shadows to check out some career possibilities and start the networking process. At this point I think I would really enjoy a job in PR agency work or integrated communications. After Thanksgiving I’m going to start applying to jobs in these fields in the greater tri-state area. I want to get a head start on the job-search process as I need to have a job before I decide to move somewhere…graduation will be here before I know it.
Altogether, I am super stoked about life right now and I feel that I have truly been blessed by God. He knows why.
